10/18/21 – Principal’s Message Regarding Student Safety

Viking Family,

I regret to inform you that there was a shooting across the street from Lincoln High School this afternoon as their school was dismissing for the day.  A Lincoln High School Student has been listed in critical condition and another man lost his life.  Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by this senseless act of violence.

I would like to assure all families that our safety team works incredibly hard each day to ensure student safety before, during and after school.  To help support student safety, it is incredibly important that students are going straight home at the end of the school day and that they remain vigilant of their surroundings.

We know that the rise in gun violence has compounded the trauma that our students have sustained throughout this pandemic and we are here to be of support.  Students should contact their counselor or a trusted adult if they need to talk to someone. Students are also encouraged to call or text the Philly Helpline 24 hours a day at 1-833-PHL-HOPE (1-833-745-4673).

Take Care,

Principal Crowder
