Graduation Announcement
Seniors,
I know that you may have heard rumors earlier today that our graduation was canceled and/or that we would be having a virtual ceremony. Neither of these scenarios are true at this time.
I know how very important it is to each of you and your families to have an in-person ceremony. Please know that it is important to me too.
After working with Superintendent Dr. Hite on this issue, I am very happy to report that we will indeed have an in-person graduation on Friday at 10 AM, weather permitting. I say weather permitting, because we may have to reschedule graduation in the event of thunder/lightning, but this decision will not be made until Friday morning, if needed, a rain date will be communicated at that time.
According to all weather forecasts that we have reviewed, we will have a window of time between 10 AM and noon in order to hold our outdoor ceremony. What this means is that we will not have any time to spare and we will need to begin our ceremony promptly at 10 AM. In order to accomplish this, we need you to make sure that you are doing the following:
- Arrive to the auditorium no later than 8:30 AM
- All graduates need to be in full cap/gown/tassel
- Follow all dress code requirements (posted in Google Classroom for your reference)
- Report to your assigned seat in the auditorium immediately upon arrival
- Smile big!! You have lots to be proud of!!
We are so excited to celebrate this very special occasion with you all. As always, if you have any questions or if we can be of support, please email me at ocrowder@philasd.org.
Best,
Principal Crowder
