Student Financial Aid
FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a necessary part of the student financial aid process. All students should fill out the FAFSA if post-secondary school is in their future. All federal loans and grants, as well as many scholarships, require the FAFSA to be submitted. Below you will find a few links which will help to explain the process. The application may be filled out beginning October 1 of each year. Deadlines vary for each school, so be sure to look up your schools’ requirements. A good rule of thumb is the earlier the better. When the FAFSA is completed, schools will be able to sent out award letters. Students who complete their FAFSA earlier have a better chance of getting grants and scholarships from individual schools.
Remember: The first “F” is for FREE! Do not pay to fill out your FAFSA!
